An idea has been brewing in my head for several years now, however until today with no actual result. Today on 22 November 2017 I have finally brought this idea to life and set up my own blog. My name is Jan Baksa Lesjak and I am from Slovenia in Europe. I am currently residing in Munich, Germany where I am the CEO of the company 42DBS GmbH. The road to this point in my life was long and paved with many interesting experiences resulting in many fun stories to tell, well, and plenty of boring ones as well. So if you will follow this blog, you will need to bare with me on the boring ones to hopefully have fun reading the interesting ones. The idea is to summarise my thoughts, perspectives and especially stories from the past and current experiences in living abroad, how it is to move to Munich, adapt, run a company in a new business environment and the path that led to that.
I sincerely hope you will have an interesting read and hopefully learn more about me and that some of my babbling will prove useful to you in your decisions and possibly even in your relocation to Munich. I wish you all the best, but mostly plenty of fun when you spend time on this page.
Who am I? I am many things, but in my core I would describe myself as a strong people person, who loves to interact with everyone and learn new things. I love to travel (who does not?), I enjoy going to the mountains, love basketball. A part of my life are also Mensa, which I am a member of and Rotary, where I try to be as active as my work life allows. For many years now I trade the currency market and also manage funds for investors and professionally, as mentioned before, I am managing a company in Germany. Before that I have spent 14 years in Bureau Veritas, where I have really gained a vast amount of experience in business.
But more than my professional life, I like to do things that are not everyday, so I auditioned for Big Brother (never made it to the house, but had a contract and was in reserve if someone would leave the house), I was on the TV show Who wants to be a millionaire, did not leave with millions, sadly and generally try to do ouf-of-the-comfort-zone stuff. This and much much more I have to tell so I will enjoy putting it up on my new blog page.
In München, 22 November 2017,
